Pray for Central Baptist Dnepropetrovsk

John Bell here, filling in for a sickly Derrel Thompson – We had a wonderful concert. We were concerned that the crowd might be smaller, but praise God, there  was standing room only for the 1100 seat auditorium and we estimate there were 1300 in attendance. There were over 700 positive responses of those indicating salvation commitment. The crowd was very responsive from the very beginning of the concert. Their eyes lit up and there were exclamations of joy as we sang our Russian songs. Don did an outstanding job of directing and the support teams performed admirably despite the large crowd. They had to make a quick run back to the ship to retrieve more CDs and programs.

We received word after the concert and spiritual high that the church in Dnepropetrovsk where we are scheduled to sing twice on Saturday caught fire and is a total loss. We are currently exploring other venues and praying for God’s guidance. We covet your prayers along with us. We are hoping and praying for the opera concert hall. Please also pray that the TV news coverage furthers the message of Christ and the work of His people.

Internet access on the ship is still very unreliable. We will get you updates as often as we can.

  1. it is wonderful to read how God is working through your ministry to touch lives .I praise God for sending you all . I will keep praying that you will find a place for your concert I know you will. Sorry that Derrel is sick, I will continue to pray for healing and you all to stay well.

  2. I’m joining you in praising God for the celebration last night and looking to Him for His plans for y’all on Saturday. I hope Derrell is feeling well soon. Y’all have a great and blessed time tonight as you share with the ship’s crew! Christ’s rest, peace, faith, love and joy for you all.

  3. This passage was in my devotional this morning, and I thought of y’all:

    2 Corinthians 4
13 It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.”With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, 14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence.

15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

16Therefore we do not lose heart.

Praying for God’s richest blessings on you and yours.

  4. Thank you for the latest update. Praise God for the positive responses! Praying for everyone’s health, stamina and renewal of joy. May God provide direction about how to help the church that experienced the burned building…praying there was no loss of life or serious injury to people. Satan always attacks at the spiritual pinnacle, doesn’t he? I know God will provide the perfect place for y’all to glorify Him and at the perfect time. May God continue to work through you all to spread His gospel and bring glory to His name.
