This One Thing

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13, 14 NIV)

This morning in our devotional time Michael talked to us about the importance of being focused on our purpose. Using Philippians 3:13 as the text we were encouraged to be strong in our focus for this one thing that we are here to do. And that is to proclaim the greatness of Jesus Christ to the people of Ukraine this week.

We are doing our best to make sure our focus is on the mission at hand and to not get distracted.

Many of us on this trip were here on the last trip in 2010. As we pulled into the port in Odessa last night to meet the ship, it was right where we left it in October 2010. And tonight as we gathered at FBC Odessa, again, it was if we had never left. The crowd once again was excited to be there and received us enthusiastically. Our best estimate is approximately 1,000 people were there tonight.

We don’t know yet the results of the night, but this one thing we do know, the gospel was proclaimed in both song and the spoken word. We could see evidence of the Holy Spirit working on people’s faces. It was a good first concert for us. We know that God was glorified.

Below is a video of Bryant Jones singing “I AM”. Enjoy.

The ship pulls out in an hour and a half and sails all night to Kherson across part of the Black Sea. Pray for smooth sailing tonight and for good rest for all of the team.

Thank you for the video of Bryant singing “I AM”. Excited to see others from years past that have
ministered at MBBC-Jet Jones who was such an encouragement concerning adoption and
Scot Cameron from MEF conference days. I will be lifting you up as well as my worship leader Bryant and posting daily updates on facebook.

  8. To all of you and particularly my golfing buddy, J.K. We are with you in spirit and thank you so much for allowing us to really feel that we are a part of what you are doing for the Lord, our God. God Speed.

  9. We lift you, the Gotts and Blackleys up daily to our Wonderful Lord and Savior, that He will give each of you the strength and annointing you need as you minister and share His love with the people there in Ukraine. May you feel His Spirit moving in the hearts of the people as we did in 2010.What a blessing to see Him working in such a mighty way. We know He will overcome any barriers satan tries to place in the way. Our church had prayer for your Sunday, Wednesday and you are on their daily prayer sheet. We really miss being with you, but it is great reading daily how things are going. May God Be With You as you serve Him.
