In their hearts humans plan their course,
but the Lord establishes their steps. Proverbs 16:9
We are one week away from departure to Ukraine. For the team members, this week will be filled with a flurry of activities. For many of us Music Minister types we will no doubt be planning and working on three weeks worth of worship services and making sure all the details are in place for our absence. All of us will be in the laying out, packing, and getting ready mode. It will be a busy week as we make our final plans to depart next Monday.
Mission Ukraine 2015 has been in the planning stages for almost three full years. It is hard to believe that we leave in one week after all these many months of planning, preparing, and rehearsing. In our hearts we have planned our course.
God honors that work. He wants us to plan and prepare in order to present our best for Him and for His glory. We have done that. We are ready! Now our prayer shifts from Lord, be in our planning to Lord, establish our steps. Lord, walk before us and guide us now as we go. Establish our steps.
This past Thursday night the Singing Men of North Central Texas held it’s monthly concert at Dallas Baptist University in the beautiful Pilgrim Chapel. It was an incredible concert and I hope many of you were able to be a part. We were joined by several men from the West and Panhandle chapters as well as their directors, Todd Wilson and Dan Baker, who will be directing the choir in Ukraine. As an added feature to the evening we were joined by a very special guest artist. His name is Lance Brown and he is a Christian speed painter who uses his gifts as an artist and designer to present the gospel in a very unique way. His website is www.paintedchrist.com
On the way home that night some of our members talked about how great it would be to have Lance with us on the trip. A message was relayed to Don Blackley, director of the North Central chapter, and he was having the same thoughts. Through several conversations this past Friday, Lance is now going with us to use his gifts for the sake of the Gospel in Ukraine. In discussing with Lance about going, he said that two weeks prior he had told the Lord, “God, whenever, wherever you lead me I want to be there.”
In our human hearts we have planned and made very good preparations. Now we leave it in God’s hands and ask him to establish our steps. He is doing that in ways that we could not even fathom. Lance was able to clear his schedule, is willing to leave his family on short notice and travel with us to Ukraine. God is establishing our steps.
Please pray for Lance has he makes quick preparations. Pray that all the supplies that he will need can be obtained quickly and easily. Pray for the entire team this week as we make our final preparations and get ready to leave on Monday.
Lord, establish our steps . . .
