Country Boys Prepare For Ukraine

File Apr 15, 11 32 24 AM

For this upcoming mission we are using a tag team approach here on the blog to provide updates. John Bell, Minister of Music & Pastoral Care at FBC Canton, will be on the trip helping with projection and other technical matters. He will be sending back emails to Derrel Thompson, Minister of Music & Pastoral Care at Taylor’s Valley in Temple, who will then post to the blog.  John has written his first post as a preview and reminder to pray for all that will attend. From this point forward the posts that you read will be from John Bell.

The Country Boys performed a concert at FBC Rockwall last Sunday night to help prepare themselves for the upcoming trip. The music was phenomenal. It wasn’t exactly what you would expect to hear at a Baptist church on a Sunday night. Sure there were some great Christian songs but there was also some music mixed in that will attract people to attend the concerts in Ukraine. Such as a Beatles Medley, a Johnny Cash Medley, John Denver’s “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” and “Take Me Home Country Roads”, Boondocks and several others. Bring them in with some great music and follow it up with a solid presentation of the Gospel by Michael Gott. We full well expect the crowds to be 70 to 80% lost individuals. We are praying for an incredible movement by God and for all to accept Christ as their Savior each night.

II Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”

Should we pray from some to come to Christ or for all?

Pray for Trent Blackley as he is running The Boston Marathon right before he leaves. He will rendezvous with the group in Paris. (See what I did there?)
