Itinerary is subject to change. Refer to daily announcements and the printed daily briefing sheet for final times. The team has a single purpose but is made up of the following different groups:
  • Musicians which include the orchestra and choir of SMOT-NC
    (Singing Men of Texas – North Central)
  • Mission Staff which includes the MGI (Michael Gott International)
    staff and musician’s wives*

Monday, April 17 Departures from the US

Tuesday, April 18 Arrive Kiev Borispil Airport and transfer 99 miles to Cherkasy

12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Arrivals at Kiev Borispol Airport
Buses transfer team two hours to Apelsin Hotel in Cherkasy
6:45 p.m. Dinner at Apelsin Hotel restaurant
7:00 p.m. Welcome from the Cherkasy pastors
8:15 p.m. Early to bed in preparation for tomorrow’s evangelistic concert

Wednesday, April 19 Cherkasy –
population 283,000, Ministry Day 1

Cherkasy is the capital of the Cherkasy Region on the Dnieper River southeast of Kiev. This is the first time Singing Men of Texas – North Central has brought the message of Christ to this region. (Pronounced Chair-kah’-see)

7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Buffet breakfast served in the hotel restaurant
9:30 a.m. Mission Staff (MGI staff and musician’s wives) meeting in hotel conference room
11:00 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. Optional bus tour of Cherkasy beginning at the Rose Park and passing Scherbina House Wedding Palace, and then to the Hill of Glory to photograph the Motherland Statue
11:50 a.m. Group who opted out of tour departs by bus for Central Baptist Church
12:00 p.m. Devotional and mission information meeting for all at Central Baptist Church
1:00 p.m. Buffet lunch at the church fellowship hall
2:00 p.m. Bus transfer back to the hotel
2:15 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Free Time
5:00 p.m. Bus transfer to the concert hall
7:00 p.m. Concert #1 at Friendship of Nations Palace of Culture, Cherkasy (1,200 seats)

Thursday, April 20 Krapivnitsky – population 232,000, Ministry Day 2

Krapivnitsky (formerly Kirovograd) is the capital of Kirovograd Region. This is the first time for both Singing Men of Texas – North Central and Michael Gott to minister in Krapivnitsky. (Pronounced Krah’-peev-neet-skee.)

8:00 a.m. –10:00 a.m. Buffet breakfast served in the hotel restaurant in Cherkasy
10:00 a.m. Pack for concert in garment bags and load all bags for the trips to Krapivnitsky and Kryvyi Rih. Bags will not be unloaded until the team arrives in Kryvyi Rih.
10:30 a.m. Devotional and mission information meeting at Central Baptist Church
11:30 p.m. Lunch at Central Baptist Church
12:30 p.m. 2 and ½ hour transfer 79 miles to Krapivnitsky
3:30 p.m. Snack at the concert hall
7:00 p.m. Concert #2 at Regional Philharmonic Hall, Krapivnitsky, (900 seats)
8:45 p.m. Buses transfer team 3 hours – 74 miles – to Kryvyi Rih for check-in at Park House Hotel. Sandwich on the buses. Unload carry-ons and large bags at the hotel.

Friday, April 21 Kryvyi Rih – population 654,000, Ministry Day 3

Kryvyi Rih (Krivoi Rog in Russian) is an industrial “city of status” in the Dnipropetrovsk Region and is Ukraine’s 8th largest city. This is the first time for both Singing Men and Michael Gott to minister in Kryvyi Rih. (Pronounced Kree-vee Ree)

8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Wake up in Kryvyi Rih and have buffet breakfast at Park House Hotel
10:00 a.m. Devotional and mission information meeting at the hotel
 1:00 p.m. Lunch at Saksagan Restaurant at the hotel
 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Rest and prepare for tonight’s concert and tomorrow’s travel
4:00 p.m. Bus tour of the city with 5:30 p.m. arrival at the concert hall
7:00 p.m. Concert #3 at Kryvyi Rih’s new Molodezhnye Hall (1,600 seats)
 8:45 p.m. Bus transfer to the hotel for dinner buffet and early to bed

Saturday, April 22 Dnipro – population 987,000, Ministry Day 4

Dnipro (formerly Dnipropetrovsk) is a regional capital and industrial powerhouse on the Dnieper River. The Baptist Church in Dnipro burned in 2010 just before Singing Men arrived to sing there. With the help of SMOT-NC and some of their churches, Michael Gott, plus the sacrifice of many of the members of Central Baptist in Dnipro – the church has been rebuilt. (Pronounced D-Nee-Pro)

7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Buffet breakfast served in the hotel restaurant in Kryvyi Rih
9:00 a.m. Load all bags for the 90 mile, 3 hour trip to Dnipro
12:00 p.m. Check in to Premier Hotel Abri and have lunch
1:15 p.m. Transfer to Central Baptist Church dressed for the concerts
1:30 p.m. Devotional and greeting from Bishop Stefan and Pastor Sergey at Central Baptist
 2:30 p.m. Coffee, tea and cake in the newly refinished church fellowship hall
3:30 p.m. Transfer to the concert hall
5:00 p.m. Concert #4 at Palace of Culture, “Shynnik” (1,240 seats)
7:00 p.m. Concert #5 at Palace of Culture, “Shynnik” (1,240 seats)
8:45 p.m. Transfer by bus to the Reporter Restaurant for dinner

Sunday, April 23 Kharkiv – population 1.4 million, Ministry Day 5

Kharkiv was not originally on the mission schedule for 2017, but believers there urged SMOT–NC to come. It is Ukrainian’s second largest city and has 60 science academies and 31 universities. This is the first time the choir has come to this important city and region.. (Pronounced: Har-Keev – with a guttural “H” and rolled “R”)

8:30 a.m. Choir and mission staff worship at hotel’s conference center
9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Brunch buffet at the hotel served in the dining room
10:45 a.m. Load bags on buses
11:00 a.m. Depart for Kharkiv – 134 miles, 3 hours on good road
 2:00 p.m. Move into rooms at Kharkiv’s Premier Palace Hotel
 2:45 p.m. Lunch at Hotel Premier Palace dining room
 4:30 p.m. Bus transfer 5 minutes to concert hall
 6:00 p.m. Concert #6 at Kharkiv State Opera and Ballet Theater (1,800 seats)
 8:00 p.m. Dinner TBA

Monday, April 24 Poltava – population 290,000, Ministry Day 6

Poltava is known for it’s medical schools. This city is remembered by Singing Men who were greeted with cheers and a packed hall when they took the stage 30 minutes late due to slow transportation in 2012. (Pronounced Pol – tah -vah)

 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. Breakfast at Premier Palace Hotel, Kharkiv
10:00 a.m. Load all large bags on the luggage van that goes directly to Radisson Blu, Kiev.
Small bags, concert attire and instruments on your bus.
 10:15 a.m. One hour guided tour of Kharkiv’s amazing historical center
11:30 a.m. Two hour transfer to Poltava – 88 miles from Kharkiv
1:30 p.m. Arrive at Central Baptist Church for lunch and devotional
2:30 p.m. Devotional followed by time to relax or visit the nearby supermarket
4:30 p.m. Transfer to hall for this evening’s concert at 6:00 p.m.
 6:00 p.m. Concert #7 at Lystopad Concert Hall, Poltava (1,100 seats)
 8:00 p.m. Depart for Kiev – 200 miles, 4 and ½ hours on good road; dinner bag on the buses
12:30 – 1:00 a.m. Arrive Radisson, claim your carry-ons from the buses, Get your key and room number from Amy and LG in the hotel lobby. Hand in your passports at the desk. Bags are in the rooms.

Tuesday, April 25 Kiev – population 2.8 million, Ministry Day 7

Kiev is the capital city of Ukraine, bisected by the Dnieper River and known for its religious architecture, secular monuments and history museums. The city has seen 2 major revolutions in the past decade. The growing political and economic role of the city, combined with its international relations and extensive internet and social network penetration, have made Kiev the most pro-Western and pro-democracy region of Ukraine.

8:00 – 10:00.a.m. Buffet breakfast at Radisson Blu
Pick up your passport and a coffee shop voucher from the front desk.
 12:30 Bus transfer of walk to Dom Evangeliya (House of the Gospel)
1:00 p.m. Buffet lunch at Dom Evangeliya Baptist Church in central Kiev
1:45 p.m. Devotional/information meeting and greeting from Kiev pastors in the sanctuary
3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Free -time to explore the city or to rest and prepare for concert
 5:30 p.m. Transfer from Radisson Blu Hotel to concert hall
7:00 p.m. Concert #8 at National Palace of Culture “Ukraina” (3,780 seats)
 8:45 p.m. Transfer from “Ukraina” to Radisson Blu for dinner buffet in hotel restaurant

Wednesday, April 26 Kiev – population 2.7 million, Ministry Day 8

Today is Chernobyl Day of National Remembrance for those who died in the nuclear disaster in April, 1986. Therefore, there is no formal concert scheduled for this day. The ministry today will be personal evangelism with a group of students who will take the choir and team on a personal guided tour of the capital city. 

7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Buffet breakfast served in the hotel restaurant
Today’s devotional will be a private time this morning for you to write down what God has done in you and through you during this mission.
10:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Optional Bus Tour of Kiev with professional Ukrainian guides
12:30 p.m. Lunch time free to be hosted by MGI staff at Domino’s, Puzata Hata or on your own.
2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Go shopping with MGI staff on St. Andrew’s Descent up the hill from the restaurant
7:30 p.m. Optional one to two hour metro and walking tour of Kiev by night with MGI staff and students from MGI winter courses

Thursday, April 27 Chernihiv – population 294,000, Ministry Day 9

Chernihiv is an ancient regional capital 79 miles north of Kiev on the Desna River near Chernobyl. It was the first capital of Ukraine, and today is famous for architecture dating to the 900s. This is the first time for Singing Men of Texas to bring the message of Christ to Chernihiv. (Pronounced Chair-nee’-heev in Ukrainian and Chair-nee’-gohv in Russian.)

7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Buffet breakfast served in the hotel restaurant
10:30 a.m. Transfer to Dom Evangeliya for final devotional, mission information meeting and lunch
11:30 a.m. Lunch buffet at Dom Evangeliya’s fellowship hall
 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Final time for packing and preparation to travel home
 3:00 p.m. Two hour bus transfer to Chernihiv – 92 miles
5:00 p.m. Dinner in Chernihiv hotel
7:00 p.m. Concert 9 at the Taras Shevchenko Music Drama Theater (1,000 seats)
8:45 p.m. Bus transfer back to the hotel (Snack on the bus)

Friday, April 28 Travel Day

3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Bus transfers to Kiev Borispol Airport for early flights to Western Europe and on to home cities in Texas.
