Ministry Day 10 – Kiev (Final Concert)

Texas Country Boys Entire Team 2021 Overlooking Kyiv

The Texas Country Boys 2021 mission/tour is now complete. They guys finished up strong with a great concert at the Temple of Peace Baptist Church. This is a relatively new church with a huge new building that sits prominently on a hillside overlooking the city of Kyiv. There were 320 people who gathered to hear the concert. Praise the Lord 120 of them indicated a positive response to Christ tonight.

We have returned back to the Central Baptist Church (Dom Evangelia) which has served as our hotel here in Kyiv and we are now packing and getting a little bit of rest before leaving at 3:00 a.m. for the airport. (About 2 and hours from now as I type this.)

It has been a great mission and tour. The entire team, including our wonderful Ukrainian team members have worked together well. It really could have not gone any smoother. The audiences were not as large as in past trips, but even with the lesser numbers we still feel it was worth it to come.

The band sang to an estimated 3,230 people over 10 concerts and we registered 1,546 positive responses to Christ. The Lord was with each step of the way and His timing for us to come was perfect and right on time. Many of the regions that we traveled in are now considered a “red” zone for Covid. While many things are not actually shutting down, restrictions are being implemented. If we were to be here next week it is doubtful that many of the concerts would even take place, much less have anybody attend.

We praise the Lord that we all stayed healthy and everyone has tested negative and is cleared to travel later today.

The Singing Men of Texas – North Central has plans to travel to Poland and Ukraine this coming April 2022. Plans are being made and we are certainly looking and studying the pandemic situation. Let’s all pray together that by the spring our world is more open and healthier.

Blessings to all and thanks for reading and praying. Till the next trip . . .

Ministry Day 9 – Irpin

The Texas Country Boys team had a free day in Kiev on Thursday. Many walked around this part of the city and enjoyed a pretty fall Ukrainian day. Half of the team went and got their Covid tests done and all of those that tested on Thursday were negative. The band members will get their tests done on Friday. Everyone has to show a negative test document to be able to fly back to the USA.

The concert last night was held at Irpin Bible Church about an hours drive outside of Kiev. It is a new and growing suburb and the church is in a brand new building. There were just over 200 people in attendance in the room that seats about 360. We have recorded 130 positive responses for Christ.

A young mother with her two children with her commented as she came in she was so grateful that the concert had not been cancelled. The audience really enjoyed the concert and was one of the most engaged of the entire tour. The city of Kiev is going into a red zone category due to Covid at midnight Friday night. This will be three hours after our final concert.

We would like to nce again a note of explanation about the response numbers we have reported. We use the phrase “make a positive response to Christ” to describe what the people in attendance have done. This may be a first time decision or profession of faith in Jesus, but it may also be from a believer who is saying I want to rededicate myself to Christ. For some it is an affirmation that they have already made a decision and they are simply saying I have done that already.

We want to be very honest with these numbers and not claim them for that what they are not. The Lord knows the hearts of each individual that responds. All the forms with names and email addresses are turned over to the local churches for follow up.

We enter our final day praying for the concert on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. This concert is in a new church here in Kiev (National Baptist House of Peace) that has the potential to attract hundreds of people and even some government officials who live nearby. It seats around 2,000 people. Pray with us that the Lord will draw to Himself many tonight as the Texas Country Boys perform their final concert and as Michael Gott once again shares a message on how to be forgiven and how to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your continued prayer support.
